I was working out of Tidewater Virginia when the Virginia Air National Guard went from the F-106 to a newer fighter.

There was a good article in the “Virginian-Pilot” about the change over.

I thought it was interesting that the pilots did not want to give up the Delta Darts. One of them said it was “the Cadillac of fighter planes”. Very pleasant to fly.
