Endangered rhino dies at CA zoo, only 5 remain

(CNN) - A rare species is closer to extinction. A northern white rhino has died at a San Diego zoo.
Angalifu was 44 years old and died of old age Sunday.

One would have thought but doubt it. They had hoped he'd mate with another white rhino but that didn't happen. Good grief, as if the zoo couldn't artificially inseminate the female years ago when they saw the old guy wasn't up to the job.

I’m getting Rinos mixed up with Hippos in my head. Both are herbivores who used to dominate West Africa . One of them will challenge you with his unicorn horn, while the other one has little ears, is fat all over and enjoys sitting in mud puddles. Neither makes a suitable Companion Pet, covered by insurance.
