Yep. That's the sneaky part of the bill - "transfer" used to mean permanent ownership, not temporary physical possession. I could call the anti-gunners liars and cheats but it would only be redundant.

So when my hunting group is climbing into the back of a pickup to try our luck somewhere else and I hand my rifle to someone already in the truck for safety while I climb in, we have both become felons?
