First thing I looked up was where their SAS is based, it’s a long flight from the capital.

It’s like having the all Delta Force/SEAL teams/etc based in San Diego 3,000 miles away from DC. I’m amazed the Aussies don’t have the first team closer to their capitol and the major urban terrorist targets.

There are a lot of assets in Sydney. The SAS ain't all we've got. The two Commando Regiments both have a presence in Sydney, so do our 'best' Navy troops. All are very well trained in anti-terrorism areas.
