This was obvious to anyone who really read and understood his first book, Dreams from My Father. As I did in 2008, when Hillary was still the presumptive nominee, but Obama was coming on strong.

After reading that, then, nothing has been particularly surprising. Horrifying nonetheless, especially the reelection in 2012, but not surprising.
