I was born in Detroit, raised in Detroit, and for the first 2 years of marriage lived in Detroit...had 6 children but one passed away 10 hours after being born, due to severe birth defects. In my 30’s I went back to school and became a nurse...first hospital I worked at was the city hospital of Pontiac Michigan a few years after the riots. I don’t think that makes me naive...retired from nursing when we moved onto a farm and raised angora goats, royal palm turkeys, wild turkeys, 1 ewe 5 geese various times various amounts of chickens, Ring neck pheasants, Chinese red Golden’s (they are beautiful)the farm house was 100 years old and in great condition. The barns were ancient also...the floor of the hay loft was made with trees that still had the bark on them....5 outbuilding all together Now you know my whole life, didn’t become a country girl until I was 45. I appreciate all that answered me, but I am done. Have a great evening.

I actually lived in LA for a while. It struck me as a different kind of place. My experience there FWIW was that some rules of society that were considered normal elsewhere did not necessarily apply there. To try to determine what is the social norm in LA, it helps to have actually lived in LA.
