There’s the “great conservative” Pat Roberts.

He had lots of Republican company in the Yes column, looks like about 22 others. With all the Dems who voted against this $1.1 trillion bill, Republicans could easily have defeated it if they had any desire at all to do so.

The 'shutdown' nonsense is just a monstrous straw man. The public would have supported moves to restrict Obama's illegal amnesty moves by a large margin.

They gave Obama almost everything he wanted through fiscal 2015.

Yep. The only plausible answer is that the GOPe also wants amnesty. They think they can slide the funding for it into the omnibus bill unnoticed but they are sadly mistaken.

Unfortunately for them, the Dems will double cross them again and not support whatever DHS funding bill Boehner comes up with. When the vichy GOP are bare ass to the wind in February and forced to vote to fund amnesty again I will LOL at their narcissism and greed.
