I have to disagree somewhat with his last paragraph.

This is why FReepers are saying goodbye forever to the Republican Party and saying we need a third party.

Sooner or later one has to give up on banging one’s head against the wall.

With all due respect a third party is an astonishing dumb idea...

There is not enough voters in this country for a third party to make a difference except to screw up conservative candidates in the primaries...

We already see the democrats running and funding pseudo "conservatives" to split the vote in primaries ...

What is needed is field good solid conservative candidates from within the Republican ranks until we gain enough clout and the ability to make real change in DC...

That takes time... it's coming...

Actually the antipathy of the Tea Party patriots against the republican establishment is what attracts the crucial Independents.

Independent voter registrations were 24% in 2012 and catapulted to 42% in 2014. It was the Independents that crushed the democrats in the 2014 elections.

Independents do not like republican establishment types and loath them as much as they loath democrats.

The idea of a 3rd (2nd) party is an idea whose time may have come because of the Independent vote.

Ted Cruz can win by a landslide in 2016 with the Independents. They don’t see Ted so much as a republican as they see him as anti-establishment and that folds perfectly within the views of Independent voters.

I will only get behind a candidate I like. I have also given up on the GOP because the have sabotaged the good Presidential candidates through many cycles now.
No, third parties will not do anything.
All emphasis should be made to remove the turds in the GOP IMO.

The only Third Party Candidate whose name anyone recognizes is Ross Perot. He gave us Bill Clinton, which begat RINO Bush, which begat Marxist Obama.

Third Party Vote = Democrat Wins, every time it’s tried.

I wish it wasn’t so, but I’m one of those people who wasn’t paying attention back in 1992 and Voted Perot. That is something I will never forgive myself for.

The only hope is changing the Republican Party from the inside, or getting used to hearing President “Lieawatha” Warren until January 2025 or until our last day on Earth, whichever comes first...

But, a third party can only divide further .. and I’m not for that.

Besides, let’s give the new people a chance to show their muscle and resolve to change things.

My first change .. get rid of Boehner and McConnell as leaders of the group. There are several good candidates in both house and all they have to do is stop voting for anything Boehner or McConnell put forward. That should get the message out LOUD AND CLEAR ..!!!!

You don’t have to follow a leader .. if the LEADER IS NOT LEADING .. and Boehner and McConnell certainly are not leading anything. They are just voting with the dems all the time.

Boehner’s love affair with Obama .. I’m at PUKE ALREADY.

Third party wouldn’t help.

Conservatives have to take over the leadership.

But, in the time intakes to take over, the conservative becomes more like the current leaders.

It’s a cycle of human endeavor.

We’re taking over the GOP. This is the long fight. You have to take the tent, make it bigger, and help people to understand conservatism. The future is conservative populism.

We don't need to form a third party. That is a recipe for disaster. We need to take back OUR party and kick the RHINOs to the curb.
