I hate the sins and the sinners

I have never understood why people ever feel compelled to say they hate the sin, but not the sinner. I think it was Jesus who first said those words, so I suppose Christians want to present themselves in the best possible light in hopes of getting a place with a pool in Heaven. Even though I’m not a Christian, I’m certainly willing to grant that Jesus was a much nicer guy than I am. Still, it seems fairly obvious that without sinners, those pesky sins would quickly disappear.

To my way of thinking, Barack Obama is the single biggest sinner in America. I don’t believe that anything he says or does is in the best interests of our nation. Instead, everything comes down to partisan politics with this schmuck, whether it’s attacking the police, refusing to green-light the Keystone pipeline or trashing the Constitution. On top of everything else, he sets a bad example for young people by being a hypocrite and a serial liar.

Adultery was never a capital punishment here.

Ancient Israel was in another dispensation also, they lived by the law—they were commanded to. We are in the current age of grace, totally different set of rules.

I still believe we should execute murderers, rapists, child-molesters, and those with mob ties.

...blacks never seem to demonstrate on behalf of anyone else’s causes or injustices? I see plenty of white fatheads all over America marching around with their hands raised, chanting “Hands up, don’t shoot,” but I never see blacks taking part when illegal aliens hold demonstrations or when white people are chanting about global warming or the International Monetary Fund.

Ping - interesting take on black culture.

The word that comes to mind is “mascots”.
They are the mascots of the left,
trotted out to get the crowd going in their favor.

But it also means a death sentence here in the real world.

With respect, I think you may wish to reconsider what you believe to be the "real world."

St Cum Augustine said “dilectione hominum et odio vitiorum”, which translates roughly to “With love for mankind and hatred of sins.”

Ghandi “love the sinner but hate the sin”

By the way Jesus Christ said “THE LOVE OF money is the root of all evils” (1 Timothy 6:10) (my caps for emphasis)

It is unbecoming, but not unexpected, for a pop writer to misquote and misapply the biblical texts.

Both the sinner and the sin stand condemned before God. God hates both. That is why He gives us the body of His only Son, not only to take our place under the Law, but to live and abide in those who believe. The sin and the sinner are both dealt with in Christ. That is what makes Christmas, Good Friday, and Easter such profound realities. So, each Christian is a sinner and sins, yes. At the same time he is free from sin in Christ Jesus as a new man comes forth by daily contrition and faith. This is no joke, nor does it need a great deal of philosophical parsing. And in no way does this truth invite a lackadaisical approach when it comes to sin.

St Augustine said “Cum dilectione hominum et odio vitiorum”. . .

ALL the traitør bastards should be hung.

Such a position precludes any of that pesky theological hairsplitting.

Gospel Mt 25:31-46

Jesus said to his disciples:
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory,
and all the angels with him,
he will sit upon his glorious throne,
and all the nations will be assembled before him.
And he will separate them one from another,
as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the king will say to those on his right,
'Come, you who are blessed by my Father.
Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
a stranger and you welcomed me,
naked and you clothed me,
ill and you cared for me,
in prison and you visited me.’
Then the righteous will answer him and say,
'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you drink?
When did we see you a stranger and welcome you,
or naked and clothe you?
When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’
And the king will say to them in reply,
'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did
for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for me.’
Then he will say to those on his left,
'Depart from me, you accursed,
into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
For I was hungry and you gave me no food,
I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
a stranger and you gave me no welcome,
naked and you gave me no clothing,
ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.’
Then they will answer and say,
'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty
or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison,
and not minister to your needs?’
He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you,
what you did not do for one of these least ones,
you did not do for me.’
And these will go off to eternal punishment,
but the righteous to eternal life."

I know what you mean. Maybe I should have said here on earth.

I know it is sinful, and I won’t twist words in the Bible to delude myself, but IMO there is time for love and there is time for killing.

If you or anyone disagrees, well then every war has been nothing but extreme sin.

We are instructed in Scripture to reprove sin. We are also instructed to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are not bound to make those who are lost comfortable or at ease while we do it; quite the contrary. One must be convinced and convicted of sin before true repentance can take place.

The truth of the Gospel is quite harsh; Repent or burn. All the sugary, do-gooder, world-friendly jargon that is put forth by the modern church won’t change it. We are not compelled by Scripture to coddle or even associate with people who clearly don’t believe the Word.

2 John 1:9,10 9: “Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ hath not G-d. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ hath both the Father and the Son. 10:If there come unto you and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him G-d speed. For he who biddeth him G-d speed is a partaker of his evil deeds.”

So, not only will I not wish those who insult my Christianity, my moral code and my Conservatism well, I will disassociate, ignore and oppose them as much as is in my power with all good conscience.

Hate the sinner, I think not (a lesson in Scripture)

Ephesians 2:8 Paul stresses that saving faith is a gift: “By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, so that no one may boast.”

Love for Enemies,,

43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbori and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Our resident is spiritually deaf and blind. Ignorant of truth. Feel Sorry for him, pray for him. But don’t hate him, for where there is hate, Christ isn’t.

“Ignorant of truth”

Wrong. Many are not ignorant of truth. They know exactly right from wrong and good from evil. They choose evil.

Now what do men do about evil other than pray and/or love?
