I think people are going back to shopping normally. The Black Friday Sales just weren't there.
And folks are sick of the "they're all gone" an hour after the store opens.
Not too many folks who don't already have what they need.
Black Friday has seen its' day.
Apart from the fabled Black Friday crowds (which by and large didn’t show up this year), people have begun to realize that Black Friday ads are followed at 48 hour intervals by additional come-ons. It’s become a fool’s game to try to figure out if today’s sale is bigger than yesterdays, or will be bigger than tomorrow’s.
I purchased two items on Black Friday sale on Amazon. Both were significantly from their normal price. Both arrived the second day with no extra charge
Only the inflation that the government reports.
Racist!
I disagree that inflation is “zip”. I read somewhere that its almost 10%. The inflation is happening in the things they don’t count but that we actually USE, like food/groceries. See this chart: http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts
I’m not an economist and don’t play one on tv...but I know what my wallet tells me and I am seeing a lot of things increase in the double digits.
