Venezuela: U.S. flooding market with fracking-produced oil

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro blasted the United States Wednesday for its large-scale use of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, saying it is flooding the market with oil produced with environmentally destructive methods.

The United States, one of the world's biggest practitioners of fracking, a controversial technique that involves pumping a pressurized fluid - usually composed of water, sand and chemicals - into a shale formation to create a fracture in the rock layer and release trapped petroleum or natural gas - has used that technology to double oil output to 8.5 million barrels per day in six years.

I suppose you wouldn't call Adolf Hitler a dictator, either. He was elected.

Hitler was elected once, and then dismantled the democratic government.

The last Venezuelan election was in 2013, where Maduro defeated Henrique Capriles Radonski by a margin of 50.6% to 49.1%. Yes, there can probably be extensive voter fraud, but he is losing the purse to pay his supporters. There is only so much that fraud can cover.

The rest of the world’s oil and gas is not owned by individual citizens. In the US private property owners sold their gas. In most other countries the government owns the stuff.

So in the USA it is not “our” gas. It is Bill’s gas or Susy’s gas and guess what? They want it drilled and sold.

This makes it pretty clear what kind of person opposes energy production.

The price of oil including in oil rich states is et on the world market. For it to stay cheap it most flow freely everywhere. Any stoppage will cUse prices to go up. Even here.

No way should our government support our oil industry. You really think the U.S. GOVERNMENT will be any better at it then the other tyrants? Expensive or cheap we should not help oil and gas prices either through direct aid of military help. Let free citizens decide how to handle it. Oh wait we actually did that for once and got a cracking boom.

Okay... we are sorry that we are flooding the market and drive the price down. We will tell King Barry the Assclown that we want fracking to stop. We also want to drive around in glorified golf carts, too.

Seriously, go and cry to someone who gives a Damn... my violin is lost, so I can't play it. I think a flea picked it up...

Obama was democratically elected and is finishing the job of dismantling a Republic. The form of government is not as important as the rule of law.

We are in a lawless country living on the vestigial remains of a constitutional republic. We do not have room for smugness we will be Venezuela some day.

While probably tongue in cheek, there’s also probably a grain of truth there. State run oil enterprises don’t have the talent, equipment and risk courting combination available here to facilitate new methods of exploiting oil.

If free society companies and individuals hadn’t gone to the sandy country oil rich parts of the world in the first half and middle of the 19th century and developed oil infrastructure (that most of them subsequently ended up nationalizing) they’d still be herding goats and killing each other over top of it...

Venezuelan oil is s*** oil too. When oil is $60/barrel on average, you’re going to want to pay a LOT less for it to run that stuff through your refinery.

I have a small crude oil collection and Oriente from Venezuela is visually apparent to be crappy, poorly filtered oil on arrival from the source.

I.e. most of the oil from that region is actually consumed by China (Europe too), but if you remove a fraction of it from the overall world market, it drives the price up a lot. Ergo, when we are “stabilizing” or otherwise operating to bring nutjobs to heel in the ME, we’re essentially securing China’s oil supply.

This degenerate communist son of a bitch should stick to bus driving.

The Venezuelans had best prove that have a tiny pair left and string up this moron ASAP.

Marxists are stupid and dangerous and should be neutralized domestically as well.

Another pumped-up little socialist caudillo has sighted the drain he's circling. History for him doesn't end in a dustbin, it ends in a sewer. It isn't going to be pretty when that whole country tries to follow him down.
