“How long until the ChiComs come up with their own Laser that will suspiciously resemble ours?”

Or come up with missile delivered EMP cluster munitions that leave the operator’s console blank or cause it to reboot with Windows Vista?

Wonder what the effective range is? Rate of fire? Overcome protective counter-measures? How well?

I hope this is more than using a magnifying glass to burn ants. I'd love to see Achmed's do-rag light off!

When will the Navy come up with a smaller version that can be fitted on sharks?

Heck, I want to see those lasers deployed on our southern border. Arm them and watch the pops like "popcorn" on night vision video cameras. A dollar a shot is cheaper than giving them benefits as illegals here.

Should be cruising off the coast of Somalia picking off pirate ships.

Didn’t anyone notice? The BOATS, no ships, were not sunk to “taken out”. A small package on a stand was destroyed Far from taking it a ship.

The operator looked like he was controlling it with an Xbox 360 remote control.

Use of high-energy beams in warfare was predicted by Nicola Tesla, but it’s taken a while to work out some of the details. :’)
