The president of prestigious Smith College is red-faced and apologetic Tuesday for telling students on the Northampton, Mass., campus that "all lives matter."

Kathleen McCartney wrote the phrase in the subject line of an e-mail to students at the school....

“We are united in our insistence that all lives matter,” read the e-mail,in which she made clear she was strongly behind the protests, writing that the grand jury decisions had “led to a shared fury… We gather in vigil, we raise our voices in protest.”

But she soon received backlash from students for her phrasing. They were offended that she did not stick with the slogan “black lives matter.”

SI Hayakawa. His textbook On Rhetoric was a classic and I still refer to it.

He was at San Francisco State

I blame Eric Holder for her gaffe.

Holder said something like this, either the same wording or something very similar. It was obviously an aberration on his part since he has never before acted as if he cared about the lives of anyone not belonging to "his people." Remember Waco.

If you go to the Smith College website and search the email addresses, you can find the Pres email. I suggest emailing her and respectively showing how the response that only black lives matter is racist.

Don’t get nasty, be respectful, but point out how she failed in a ‘teaching opportunity’.

Before reading the article, I assumed she got in trouble because “all lives matter” may be interpreted to include the unborn.

To these progressive thinkers (much smarter than us, obviously!), unborn lives certainly do not matter.

just the usual double standard.

if I walk down the street yelling “white lives matter”, I’ll be jumped by any number of blacks, and be vilified as a horrible racist.

black guy walks down the street “black lives matter”, and he gets a slap on the back from the media and congratulations from the white hut.

Thanks for the reminder. Now I remember that Hayakawa was on the faculty, not just an administrator. The look on the punk’s face who had his speaker wires pulled was priceless.

“Kathleen is probably paid hundreds of thousands each year for being an complete idiot.”

Considering Smith’s tuition and fees are $44,724 per year (2014-15) and has a total undergraduate enrollment of 2,606, you’re probably right.

Pretty much sums up the abilities of these “students”.

Wanna bet we’re talkin’ lots of “studies” types whose collective IQs wouldn’t allow them to change a light bulb.

To the college: Why do you not kick these losers out? The fact that they are actually enrolled marks your institution as a member of the “Yugo” set.

Black folks need to get that their lives matter. Get off the corner. Pull up your pants. Open a book. Stay in school. Trash the rap and turn on to Mozart. Put off sex until marriage. Don’t steal from convenience stores. Don’t loot. Learn to speak proper English.
If your life matters, then you will act in a responsible, respectable, productive manner. If your life matter, then act as though it does.

The president of prestigious Smith College is red-faced and ...

Isn't that just a little racist, right there?
