It’s California. I’m surprised there’s not one day a week mandated for protest and all protesters get mandatory paid leave from the few that do work, get subsidies for those who don’t plus per diem for travel, meals & lodging.
Some of the protestors are probably paid a stipend and as I mentioned earlier, there's likely a core group of supervising "activists" who have received training and their pay scale would be much higher.
