"Voters are stupid" economist Jonathan Gruber and Marilyn Tavenner face Issa and the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee today on C-SPAN 3.
FOX News reports that Tavenner has asked that she be seated anywhere but next to Gruber. Apparently, Gruber is radioactive. Time will tell whether this affliction is covered under Obamacare.
Collins to Gruber: “I’m done with you.”
Like someone noted, couldn’t Issa just scribble a subpoena on a napkin, have the committee sign it and hand it to Gruber?

From this thread, it sounds like the hearing is a lot of fun. But I’m not sure I like the way it’s going.
IMHO they should be peppering him with very technical, very specific questions about the inner workings of Obamacare. The subsidies is one area, another is his comment about cost savings not being a factor: specifically whether they believed the fantasy that with a growing shortage of doctors they thought they could drastically increase demand while cutting costs.
Basically back the guy into a corner where he disproves the laws of supply and demand (thus earning a Nobel Prize), or admits that they were lying. IOW make him choose between admiting being incompetent or being a liar.
With Taverner sitting right there next to him.

Its going down as one of the most brutal hearings I have witnessed. Gruber and Tavenner have been thoroughly deconstructed. And the stand-in success story witness is melting into his chair.
Tavenner is a SMUG piece of dung.

He wouldn't have to, they have phones and tons of staff who can get a proper one ready within a few minutes.

“I will have to get you that information” is a tortured way of saying “I take the 5th”. Unbelievable how often Ms. Tavenner is saying this!

Mrs. Lummis pulled a switch off the tree and took Gruber over her knee.
