I guess you’re right, but it seems to me that if they can’t do anything to stop the Marxism, they might try not HELPING the leftists. That at least would be nice.

They do look like they are ‘trying to look like they oppose the Democrats’ as long as you have realistic expectations about what the Republicans can accomplish.
You should remember that most of the stuff you read and hear is only for public consumption by the news agencies and the Republicans have to be careful about what they say and how they say it. The news agencies are always ready to misconstrue in order to claim that the Republicans are out to shut down the government and impeach The First Black President.
Have you considered that much of what is reported by the media is carefully crafted to incite unrest within the ranks of the Republican Party? There are few things the media would rather cover than an outright revolt by conservatives resulting in the destruction of the only party standing in the way of the democrats.
