I read the damned story. The first sentence still makes no sense.
Their son died in a car crash a couple of years ago, hence “their second child’s funeral”. But yeah - trying to start off the article with a dramatic sentence was more important than clarity and grammar.
He worked as a mechanic for the SD.
Thanks! I’m guessing his buddies at the department will be putting in a lot of extra time on this case. Although in a small town and this type of crime, I’m guessing no matter who the father was they’d take this very personally. This must be really hard on the whole town.

At this point, I suspect that "somebody" has more to fear from this family than the family from "somebody".

Saw that story early on. She was a mud shark likely into drugs. A shame that white girls behave like total trash, but nobody deserved what happened to her.

Sorry that I seemed I was saying I was the father (I missed the word “said”), it was said by the father of an previous girl friend. She liked to hang out at bars and with the wrong crowd. She was kidnaped then beaten and raped for three days. Her captor had just come back from looking for a place to bury her alive (his testimony) when she broke free, dove out a plate glass window, and escaped to a neighbor’s house. She still claimed the guy was “a nice guy” and refused to testify against him. He is serving life. Her father (now deceased) said, “This sh*t doesn’t happen in a church”, in reference to the fact that she hung out with the bar crowd.
She did not deserve to die like that. One story I saw by one of her ex-bf’s was that she had been gang-raped prior to her kidnapping and murder. She must have run with gangsters. I feel for her father but he doesn’t sound like he set much of an example for her himself. A different story stated that he had had a meth lab and that her murder could have been related to his getting out of the business. The whole thing smells.
