I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States Against Anything Un-American,” reads Angeletti’s version. “And to the Republicans for which it stands, two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you, if you don’t watch your step.”

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855–1931), who was a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist,[5][6] and the cousin of socialist utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850–1898).

Swearing of the Pledge is accompanied by a salute. An early version of the salute, adopted in 1892, was known as the Bellamy salute. It started with the hand outstretched toward the flag, palm down, and ended with the palm up. Because of the similarity between the Bellamy salute and the Nazi salute, developed later, the United States Congress instituted the hand-over-the-heart gesture as the salute to be rendered by civilians during the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem in the United States, instead of the Bellamy salute. Removal of the Bellamy salute occurred on December 22, 1942, when Congress amended the Flag Code language first passed into law on June 22, 1942.

I used to support defending the pledge, but now a days I realize it is nothign more than a socialist indoctrination “TOOL” created by a Socialist in the Progressive Era....

I’m not denying that the pledge was written by Bellamy, nor that he was a “Christian socialist”. But, what words in the pledge promote the modern day view of “socialism/communism”?

Why is it that the ones outraged by the pledge (especially with the “under God” insertion in 1954) and who go way out of their way to get rid of it are atheists, socialists, and those against American values?

To me, you are known by your enemies. If my enemies hate it, it can’t be all bad.
