Nigel Farage and Russell Brand to clash at Kent Question Time

TWO vastly different sets of opinion are set to clash on Thursday as Russell Brand and Nigel Farage are set to meet in a Canterbury edition of Question Time next week.

Comedian and equality activist Russell Brand will sit alongside the leader of the UKIP party Nigel Farage on Thursday December 11.

Fireworks between the two men are likely: Brand is a left-wing campaigner who has previously called Farage "that racist bloke", while Farage said, in a column for The Independent, that Brand "talks in riddles about how he'd run the country" and "doesn't really say anything".

Russell Brand has become a social campaigner in recent years and has published his own manifesto for equality called 'Revolution', calling for greater taxation on the rich and greater social mobility.

As well as being the leader of UKIP, Nigel Farage is also standing for the parliamentary seat of Thanet South.

Joining them on the panel will be Labour MP Mary Creagh, and a number of other guests, yet to be confirmed.

The appearance will be Mr Brand's second appearance on Question TIme and Mr Farage's eleventh.

If you want to be a part of the audience for the programme, click here and fill out this form. All successful applicants will be contacted with further information before the programme.

Brave of Farage, he must know full well that he is walking into an ambush on the notoriously anti UKIP, left wing QT audience.

You'll be able to see this on the BBC website, Thursday night, 530pm Eastern.

What is Russell Brand’s claim to fame? I saw him is some movie where he was some drug addicted rock star. He just comes off as some drug addicted queer. He is supposed to be a comedian?

Farage is a sane and sober fellow and Brand is a drunk, insane and over the top guy.

That’s my take before the first question.

Normally he turns the tables on them all. Why Russell Brand has any kind of credibility is beyond me.

Let’s see, a Leftist media personality not accustomed to hearing the opposite argument, vs. a conservative who encounters hearty opposition at every turn.

In anything close to a fair debate, my money is on Farage. Even in a slightly unfair one.
