Hundreds of protesters returned to East Bay streets on Sunday for a second night of raucous demonstrations against police killings of unarmed black men in Missouri and New York.
Sunday’s protest started out largely peaceful in Berkeley, but by 9 p.m. crowds had climbed past lines of California Highway Patrol officers onto Highway 24 in Oakland, where they blocked multiple lanes of eastbound traffic.
Even as the crowd chanted “peaceful protest,” a group of people jumped on top of two law enforcement vehicles and kicked at the sirens, and several set small fires nearby. Police eventually moved protesters away from the cars, one of them damaged by fire.

Later in the evening, large crowds still remained in the streets, migrating to downtown Berkeley. On Shattuck Avenue and nearby streets, some businesses were vandalized and looted, and some trash bins were set on fire. Downtown Berkeley BART station was also closed.

Berkeley has been living off of this Social Justice crap since the 60s. Now the children have returned home, and they are carrying torches!
I went to Berkeley about thirty years ago. When I see stuff going on, I am always cautious to not apply my experience so long ago to what is going on today, since things have surely changed and my experience from back then is no longer relevant.
Then I walk down Telegraph Avenue for about five minutes, and I realize that absolutely nothing has changed. Berkeley is caught in a time bubble, and they like it there. Things are just as screwed up now as they were back then.
It is frustrating, when you think about it.
Maybe having a bunch of real-life radicals coming in and “burning the bitch down” will rouse them from their fifty-year folly.
Bezerkley looted come now that could not happen in the liberal bastion of the scion of radical liberalism. Is not that where sandra Fluke is from too? I think I just answered my question - California the land of nuts, flakes and cereals!

Anarchists want no government or a very small , limited government. The protesters thrive off of big government, thinking it’s the answer to everything. These people are not Anarchists. Everyone you don’t like is not an anarchist.

Well, that is the ‘new world’.
Pols spend 10s of millions for a job that pays a smidgeon of that and spend all their time at their own party rallies.
Silly me, I always thought that the reason to campaign was to convince the OTHER side they should be voting for you, not turning away people from your hand picked rally.
Granted when they go to certain groups they get booed away, W from NAACP, Clinton and BO don’t always get ‘good’ visits from Vets Groups but when you are speaking at a ‘Service Organization’ it should be non political in the sense of not campaigning etc..
I don’t ‘like’ Clinton and BO for their obvious ‘dislike’ of the Military but they are ‘damned if they do and damned if they don’t go to say a wreath laying on Memorial Day’.
If they ‘show up’ the question is asked why are you on ‘Sacred Ground’ and if they don’t they get accused of not caring or ‘disrespecting’ (and they say I don’t get along) the group.
