What is fascinating about Edwards is that he is 87 years old and his analysis of his crushing defeat sounded more lucid and articulate than the phalanx of blow dry news crappers from the networks. What a waste of intellect, how did EE become the complete sociopath he was and I suppose is. Other siblings didn't turn out that way. A younger brother was a career Marine and retired as a WO, I think. He bought a farm in Arkansas and bluntly stated he neither wanted any contact with his (in)famous brother and did not want to reside in the same state as EE.

Brother Marion Edwards was a crook, allegedly.

Brother of former Gov. Edwin Edwards dies

In contrast to his silver-haired, dapper older brother, Marion was balding, often frail-looking and less often in the spotlight. Still, he displayed his brother’s trademark sense of humor and audacity. After both were indicted by a federal grand jury in an alleged health care scheme in 1985, prosecutors labeled Marion a “bag man” for his brother. Marion lampooned the characterization during “media night’ at a French Quarter bar, walking in with a shopping bag atop his head like a crown, tossing phony $100 bills.
