There was a show about the U.S.S. Ward on one of the history type programs maybe 2 or 3 years ago. Members of the crew insisted they put a shot right through the little conning tower.
Everyone just dismissed the claim as it was one heck of a shot to get off so quickly. When they found the sub, sure enough there was the hole right where they said it was.

When I first read the story of the USS Ward I was amazed. The crew was so sure. And they were right!!
What a great honor for her crew when the sub was found.
