They do, but rather than have 104% turnout in Philly they’d like to spread some of that into neighboring (R) districts...

Marco Rubio was Speaker of the House in Florida during the 2000 attempt to steal the Presidential election by algore. The Florida Supreme Court had to get slapped down twice for their partisan and not legal rulings in the vote recount cases.

The GOP controlled the Florida House and Senate, they refused to uphold the law by impeaching the scofflaw SCOFL justices. They could've impeached the legal anarchists on the Supreme Court. They didn't, so they SCOFFLAWs were available for further mischief against the GOP.

The GOP doesn't defend itself and its legal rights. They certainly don't defend their voters. What good are they?

Good points. It is a shame that impeachment has all but disappeared.

At the state level we can thank the Reynolds v. Sims Scotus decision, which unconstitutionally forced the equivalent of the 17th Amendment on state Senates.

State Senates now serve no useful purpose for the citizens of the State. I think it serves the purpose of the politicians to obfuscate responsibility and accountability. It also gives politicians tremendous practice in making deals with other people’s money.

Before Reynolds, Senates in many states often represented counties. Back then they served the same purpose as the pre-17th Amendment federal senate, to counter wild popular assemblies.

State Senators represent the people in the same way as State Representatives. Nebraska did away with one of the chambers, and they've survived. The Nebraska representative called themselves Senators for the prestige factor.

That's my point, the State Senates serve no good purpose.
