Several people who sent me the video embedded below, from the Hillary for President campaign that is not yet officially a campaign, warned me I might barf. But actually, I found it quite interesting in a number of respects and, upon analysis, comforting.
If you have just eaten or are so averse to the former co-president that you can’t bear to click play, basically it is a three-minute-and-23-second commercial with a country song about Hillary, showing pickup trucks (it really reminded me in places of the Chevy truck “like a rock” commercials), lots and lots of white people (what happened to “diversity”?), lyrics calling her a “great lady” and a “loving wife,” excuses like “hindsight is always right” and allusions to smashing glass ceilings, and over and over again the refrain “Stand with Hillary” and for variety, “stand up with Hillary.”
A few reactions:
1.This was not a cheap production. It shows us that Hillary has money to burn. Estimates are that she will raise 2 billion dollars for her campaign, and that is so much that she can afford an endless stream of advertising. ~snip~
2.This video reveals that Hillary knows that she has a big problem with white working-class voters, especially males. ~snip~
3.The video demonstrates that Hillary is going to focus on image to the exclusion of substance...

The Cowboy wears NO wedding ring. Being a gal, one of the sexiest thing about one’s husband is that he wears that ring that his wife placed on his finger, PROUDLY (assuming he doesn’t have a reason he can’t wear it).

Hillary’s Day is done—When Obama nixed her in 2008 it was a sad day—She would have been a better president than Obama (that’s not saying much) -—But she is too old, too mixed up with Obama, too linked to corruption, to cold, and bankrupt of new ideas. Hey, Hill! Want to really serve the nation? Expose what you know of Obama and what really went on in his White House! You may never be president but you would go down as the savior of the nation.
Truck or not, she still has a problem with this white boy. If she wants to please me she needs to get busted for DUI after she mows down a parade of NOW.
This is the equivalent, for Bubbas, of her "Ah ain't no whays tahrred" speech.

Obama got all those stupid college students to help out his insurgent campaign in 2008. He never would have beat Hillary and John McCain without these idealist young skulls full of mush.

This was the first political job for the actor starring in the video, although not the first music video. His name is Jason Tobias. He has also appeared in the music video for Ariana Grande and Chris Brown’s “Don’t Be Gone Too Long.”
No, Tobias did not sing the song, and all he knows is that it was sung by someone named “T. Wilson,” who did not appear on set.
Who are these people who would spend their time and money, heart and soul, propping up a tired ole has been politician. There comes a time to “let it go.”
