THE SEXODUS, PART 1: THE MEN GIVING UP ON WOMEN AND CHECKING OUT OF SOCIETY

"My generation of boys is f****d," says Rupert, a young German video game enthusiast I've been getting to know over the past few months. "Marriage is dead. Divorce means you're screwed for life. Women have given up on monogamy, which makes them uninteresting to us for any serious relationship or raising a family. That's just the way it is. Even if we take the risk, chances are the kids won't be ours. In France, we even have to pay for the kids a wife has through adulterous affairs. "In school, boys are screwed over time and again. Schools are engineered for women. In the US, they force-feed boys Ritalin like Skittles to shut them up. And while girls are favoured to fulfil quotas, men are slipping into distant second place.

I am.

Without Jesus in me and Jesus in my husband we’d have never made it.

A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart. That’s what it says in Ecclesiastes.

Doesn’t work with Linux. Or at least not this version of Linux. I used it briefly before my son switched to this version.

“Without Jesus in me and Jesus in my husband we’d have never made it.”

Yet, the converse is not true. It’s not true that just because you have Jesus in you, and your prospective partner has Jesus in them, that you will make it. Jesus is not the variable in this equation, the human beings are what change, and that is what changes the results.

So, I am not worried about Jesus’ love failing, but that other fallible, sinful person? Yes, I certainly am going to worry about that.

“Men need not worry about making feminists happy...”

I don’t even know if it is possible for feminists to be happy. They seem to be perpetually aggrieved, and like it that way.

My 28 year old son has been telling me for the past 10 years that the girls his age are “broken”.

Yup...my 23 year can't find a girl not infected with the "drama queen syndrome" I tell him "all women under 30 yo are whacked, just depends on the degree...try to find one on the scale of 1 to 10 about a 3...

His mother wholeheartedly agrees...

My opinion is men and women are wired different...the feminist have destroyed the concept of a being a "women", completely screws up their wiring...

“REAL marriaqe is defined by the Lord, and when HIS definitions and protocols are followed there will be a blessinq, and love to hold thinqs toqether.”

Here’s where the problem lies: when you enter into marriage, whether you like it or not, the laws on marriage automatically apply to you. If the other person decides to invoke those laws against you, you cannot claim “but this is a marriage as defined by the Lord!” That won’t help you in your day in court.

I would prefer to avoid that fate, and the only way to do so, currently, is to avoid marriage altogether, at least in this country.

You could make a keyboard macro to map the g key to a different key that does work, like one of the Function keys (F1, F2, etc).

You’d need a utility to do that, either the one that came with your keyboard, or you can get a free one like AutoHotkey.

Well, there are pitfalls for men and women, that is for sure. The current system doesn’t really offer any real security to anyone, especially from stuff like you described.

However, I’m thinking more along the lines of things going really bad (social breakdown/SHTF, call it what you will). If that ever happens, then it’s just not going to be realistically possible for women to survive without men, because unscrupulous men will be literally preying on them. That’s not to say there aren’t some women who could defend themselves, but in general, nobody is going to be able to stand alone in that situation and men would naturally be the best defense against other men.

This thread is very interesting to me.

When I see the way that the popular culture is going, I sometimes almost cry: over the beauty and pleasure that young people are NOT getting, because so many are simply are not exposed to finer things anymore. Their ability to enjoy the finer things in life is so stunted!

But, on the other hand, I work among young people every day; kids who are late-teens/early-twenties. Some of these kids are absolutely stellar, and of great character.

I have also lurked on FR since 1998; and I’ve been reassured on countless occasions by the many, many good people who ARE raising up wise, intelligent, moral kids.

Statistics don’t tell the whole story; and good is always stronger than bad.

I believe we’ll pull it all out, yet.

Oh, come on! You’re a ‘serious conservative woman’, and you don’t know how to DO this?

I pulled it off twenty years ago, and it stuck......he’s even more ‘conservative’ than I am, now.

If things get that bad, there aren't many men who will be able to hold their own against the mob. The only security will be in small communities that are tightly bonded, where everyone knows one another and everyone is committed to mutual protection.

I think with Jesus in both of you, you will make it - unless you reject the Holy Spirit.

I say this as someone who stayed with my husband at one point only out of sheer obedience to the Lord. I was brought to the lowest point ever and then realized that I had put my husband where only the Lord belongs. Once I realized that, we were able to work on the problems in our hearts and in our marriage and we were filled with the Lord’s love for each other again.

There are times when a spouse gives in to sin and that strains the marriage. But part of the point of marriage is to make us grow. God told Hosea to take a faithless wife so that he could keep taking her back, as a display of how the Lord is with His people who kept falling away. As long as we allow His love to fill us, we will be able to forgive as we have been forgiven. Even when we’re not married we need that constant faithful love of Jesus to make us able to forgive those who have failed us, so it’s not a novel concept for a Christian. It’s just that a spouse is able to reach the most intimate parts of a person, so when a person is hurt it cuts closer than ever. But to be hurt deeply and still love is the closest we will ever come to knowing how Jesus REALLY loves us. And when we know that NOTHINQ can separate us from His love, the power of sin is neutered - in us and in the relationships in our lives.

My marriage has brought me to more pain than I would ever have known otherwise. But that pain has refined me in ways I would never have been refined, and it’s made me capable of deeper love and joy than I could ever have known. It’s made me a deeper, more compassionate person. And it’s made me realize that we still pick up our manna daily - every day we need Jesus, for the strength and love to keep on keepin’ on. And He doesn’t fail us. He always gives us what we need.

I believe we’re nearing the end, and things will get very tough. I’m glad I’ve learned, the hard way, that the Lord will always give us the strength we need exactly when we need it. I don’t think I’d have the strength to die for Christ in the face of Islamist threats, for instance, if it depended on me. But it doesn’t depend on me. It depends on Him, and He has always been faithful to His promises and will not fail me in my time of need.

That’s confidence that is only gained in the furnace of affliction, and it’s worth having gone through the fire and come out on the other side.

I prefer women with negative ages. (-23) is about right.

Have you considered imaginary ages? E.g., 23*sqrt(-1)? That should transport your experience to a new plane.

Imaginary ages = imaginary women. That seems about right.
