I made it to my hotel room in Baton Rouge at three am this morning so please excuse any typos. I'm still getting my bearings this morning.
Right about the time you'll be reading this, I'll be walking into a press conference to announce not just our latest video, but action we're taking that hones in on the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department.
Before I get to that, I wanted to share a quick personal story.
I typically don't arrange my travel to arrive at 3am.
But thanks to the fun folks at the TSA at JFK International, I spent 45 minutes officially detained as they searched my bags and "interviewed" me. When I asked to call family to let them know I would be late, I was told to put my phone down and an agent barked, "you're under our control now."
Even better, when they asked what I do for a living, I explained I was a journalist that investigates government corruption. They actually laughed at me.
I know I'm not alone in my experience with the TSA, but it really sets the tone for what I'm releasing today. Power . . . corruption . . . arrogance.

The TSA has no authority to detain you.
If they ever try, I am telling them: “get a sworn law enforcement officer in here to arrest me. Otherwise, I am leaving. If you try to stop me, I will swear out a complaint against you personally for kidnapping and assault.”

Yep. Louisiana politics, especially in New Orleans, is famously corrupt.

It would be entertaining if ‘some’ around here found out how James O’keefe really felt about GW Bush...he who created the TSA and its largess...

Hey, Letten, I hope you are reading these comments. Being a bully with armed back up doesn’t make you a man and it doesn’t make your little pennie bigger.
But you knew that already.
I use Wikipedia a lot, BUT like all intellectual tools it must be used with discretion.
My post was just to point that out; as they say “The Devil can quote the bible.” and often does particularly in Wikipedia. Sometimes TALK function can help to get another angle.
