The Two Faces of Chuck Schumer (very good article!)
wsj.com ^ | 12/3/14 | Daniel Henninger

Let us count the times Sen. Chuck Schumer has blown himself up politically.

That was a short count, wasn’t it?

Whatever else might be said of him, Chuck Schumer is not in the habit of self-immolation. But progressives have been lining up to vilify New York’s senior senator as the Democratic Party’s village idiot for saying before Thanksgiving that ObamaCare was a political mistake. He even said that focusing on health care, the party’s magic mountain, was “the wrong problem.”

David Axelrod accused Sen. Schumer of being, ugh, a professional politician, whose “abiding principle” is how to win elections. That’s an understatement.

In 1974, Chuck Schumer stepped out of Harvard Law School and into the New York state legislature, never practicing a day of law. In 1998, the 24th year of his chosen career, Mr. Schumer entered the U.S. Senate.

Sen. Schumer’s chosen career is the bloodless business of political protection. In order, that includes a) him, b) his base of power and c) his party. Common to all three is winning, not losing, elections.

I can’t help but wonder if Tom Clancy didn’t patter one of his characters (Ed Kealty) after an amalgam of both Slick Willy and Chuckie Schumer?

1974 was - for me - a nasty year in an ugly era.

Schemer’s angling for Rat Senate leader (hopefully in the minority) when Reid retires, which I expect will be in 2016.

Schumer always struck me as a snake.

Every time I hear him speak, I expect a hiss and occasional appearance of a forked tongue.

The Schmuck has the LSM on his side. People aren’t aware of just how awful his votes and positions are.

One of Schumer's more memorable idiocies:

Republican patriot---Sen Charles Grassley tried to protect Americans w/ this amendment to the Senate amnesty bill: "Congress should not thumb its nose at the millions of Americans who are victims of identity theft, often perpetrated by an undocumented person who steals Social Security numbers to get jobs, govt benefits, driver's licenses and more.

This amendment will simply require the person applying for RPI status to disclose any previously used Social Security numbers," said Grassley. "It's the first step to helping clean up the mess that's been created for the victim of identity theft. The amendment also authorizes certain federal agencies, upon receipt of this information, to notify individuals who were the victims."

Dismissing Sen Grassley's proposal, Sen Schumer (Dimwit-NY) said: "When people are living in undocumented status, there are times, I suppose, when they've made up identities, made up Social Security numbers. How are they going to remember all that? (The) purpose of this bill is to bring people out of the shadows. We all know when they lived in the shadows, they had to forge documents, forge Social Security numbers, et cetera. I just don't see how, when you've lived here 10 years, and you've had many different identities, many different numbers, you're going to remember them all," said Schumer.

BACKSTORY How a discordant Senate band got back together on immigration
LA Times | Brian Bennett and Lisa Mascaro / 2/3/14/ FR Posted by JohnPDuncan

Sen Schumer came with Democratic Sens. Robert Menendez of New Jersey and Richard J. Durbin of Illinois. Graham and McCain brought fellow Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah. It was clear to the senators that one voice could prove crucial to their hope to sell a plan to conservatives: Sen. Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican and Cuban American with conservative credentials, who could become a champion untainted by past scars over immigration.

Soon after that meeting, Durbin was in the Senate gym and spotted Rubio pedaling a stationary bike. "Marco, you got to be there," Durbin said. "I want you there because of your position in the party." There was a catch: Rubio, like all senators in the group, had to agree that any bill would create a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants and would emphasize family unification. "Are you willing to accept these two things?" Durbin asked. "Yes," Rubio said. "Of course, I want to talk about how it's done."

Rubio had his own conditions: to ramp up border security first and make sure illegal immigrants go to the back of the line when applying for legal permanent residency, among other things. Durbin called Schumer: Rubio was in. "I have gotten more done in the Senate gym than almost any room in the Capitol complex," said Durbin, who described the encounter while in his Capitol office, where he keeps a copy of his Lithuanian mother's naturalization paper framed behind glass with the receipt for the fee she paid: $2.50.

As Rubio came on board, Lee stepped aside. He didn't agree with the emerging consensus on the pathway to legal status and the proposal to give agricultural workers a faster path to citizenship.(Excerpt) Read more at latimes.com ...

Lindseed, Ryan and Newt have also been puke-duped, repeating the current GOP mantra: "I support the Rubio immigration reform plan"

=============================================

THESE ARE SCHUMER'S CONSTITUENTS---Schumer never saw an immigrant he didn't want to subsidize with tax dollars---dating back to WW 11.

The contemporary Russian trek to the US is s-o-o-o-o profitable, they even got Russians pretending they're Jews so they can stop off in Israel first---grab all the US subsidized freebies there---then fly here to sign up to ride the US gravy train and even get job set-asides (more jobs taken from struggling Americans). The Ruskis settle in Little Odessa---Schumer's district.

As Russian refugees seeking "asylum from persecution" pocket SS checks and ride the US gravy train speeds up----US govt freebies are tripled.

Chuck Schumer has revealed the fact the he is a racist. He would not criticize Obamacare if it was written by a white man. Isn’t this obvious?

Nixon was going down in flames (he resigned in the summer of 1974), gas prices were rising, there was a recession, the adults seemed to be on edge (I was a college freshman for the first half of 1974, and a sophomore for the second half). The mid-east was in turmoil, everything seemed to be going downhill.

On a personal level, I was doing badly in college. My girlfriend left me and I was devastated. "No colors anymore I want them to turn black."

: Lou Christie
“I’m Gonna Make You Mine” was written by Sager, Carole Bayer/carr, Billy/d’errico, Carl.

I’ll try every trick in the book
With every step that you take, everywhere that you look
Just look and you’ll find
I’ll try to get to your soul, I’ll try to get to your mind

I’m gonna make you mine
I know I’ll never give up, I’m at the end of my rope
From the morning till supper time, you’ll find
I’ll be waiting in line, I’ll be waiting in line

I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine
Make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine

I’ll try every trick in the book
With every step that you take, everywhere that you look
Just look and you’ll find
I’ll be waiting in line, I’ll be waiting in line

I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine
Make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine

I’ll be a hard-lovin’, pushin’ kind of individual
Knockin’ night and day at your door
You’ll have to turn me away like an indestructible force

Baby, I’m gonna make you mine
Make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine

I’ll try every trick in the book
With every step that you take, everywhere that you look
Just look and you’ll find
I’ll try to get to your soul, I’ll try to get to your mind

I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine
Make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine

Baby, I’m gonna make you mine
Make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine
Baby, I’m gonna make you mine, I’m gonna make you mine

ObamaCare was a political mistake

wasn't a mistake for the citizens though, just political. It's all about party and power and to hell with the people.
