Amid all the events in the wake of the release of the grand jury findings in Ferguson, a brief moment of unusual mental clarity on the part of a liberal reporter has been overlooked. It happened last Wednesday when Ferguson was being discussed on Wolf Blitzer's CNN show as Ashleigh Banfield proclaimed she was "shocked" that the grand jury witnesses backed up former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson's story.
What's particularly notable about her proclamation is that Banfield confessed that there was actually (GASP!) another side to the Ferguson story other than the liberal hype that was widely promulgated. Here is the transcript of Banfield's shocking revelation as she was temporarily able to break free of the liberal cocoon:

The grand jury “ backed up” no one. The witnesses (at least the truthful ones) did not take sides. They presented evidence in the form of testimony. The grand jury examined that evidence and came to a conclusion.
True, but the LSM *wanted* the riots, and any and all facts that would refute the story they were screaming were very inconvenient, and ignored.
Ergo, it’s not surprising that taliBanfield was not aware of hard facts and evidence.
I would guess that Ashley is shocked that the Sun rises in the East every morning.
Wow, I didn’t realize she was still alive (or at least on TV once in blue moon)
Well there are two sides to the story. How can anyone be shocked when either the story is Wilson’s or Brown’s? It is not like there were many other choices.
Is she shocked with a coin comes up tails?
Big Lib Media desperately wants the white party to be guilty in all these confrontations. When the facts don't fit, the libs are left with their mouths open wondering what happened. But there will always be another confrontation...that's what keeps them going
Has anyone seen any public opinion polls on the Ferguson decision?
This story is typical of media coverage, in which the assumption is that we are supposed to be shocked, just shocked , that there was no indictment. And that this means America is a racist bigoted nation, cops shoot black men for no reason , etc.
I know liberals and race baiter activists believe this, but what does middle America believe?
Since I haven’t seen any polls, I’ve assumed that the polling must be so bad that the media have quashed any polling on this issue. The media generally are not shy about releasing public opinion polls when they are favorable to liberal political candidates or liberal views on other issues. Just wondering about this.
I haven’t seen any polls either. I would bet there would be a stark difference between blacks and whites.
Is that a tar baby?
Thank you for posting this. Only someone who hasn’t been paying attention would be “shocked” at the existence of these witnesses.
The grand jury backed up the prosecutor, who had made the obviously correct decision not to prosecute, but needed some insulation between his ass and the political heat. Who better than twelve randoms? Who voted unanimously to ratify his decision not to prosecute!
Well, in Louis Head’s words, let’s burn this bitch down!
Paraphrased, “They told the truth instead of lies even though it proved that Wilson was not guilty of a crime. How the hell did that happen?”
