White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest is warning that President Barack Obama would veto any spending bill that prohibits federal funds from being spent to enact Obama's executive amnesty. That means Obama is willing to shut down the government to preserve his executive amnesty.
When asked if Obama would veto a bill that prohibits federal funds from being spent to enact his executive amnesty, Earnest simply replied: "yes."
When asked if that would mean Obama is willing to shut down the government if Congress passes a funding bill that would "tie the president's hands" on executive amnesty, Earnest spun and said, "I actually dont believe that members of Congress are going to be willing to go along with an effort to shut down the government over the presidents executive action on immigration." Congress must pass a new spending bill by December 11.
Earnest was not as clear about Obama's intentions before Obama announced his executive amnesty. On November 20, Earnest was asked, "So you don't rule out the President signing into law something that would undo the very thing hes going to announce tomorrow night?" He responded then, "Well, I think that seems--I think we'll have to sort of evaluate for ourselves what sort of proposals Republicans put forward, so I wouldn't want to hazard a guess at this point. But it won't surprise you to hear proposals that are floated like that certainly would not be among the kinds of proposals wed support."

The White House itself is one of the National Parks. Congress needs to be sure that if the National Parks are closed then **ALL** of the National Parks are closed.
He’s not called “President Stompy Feet” for nothing
Do it, Barry.
Please.
And leave it that way.
Let's see how the struggling black AMERICAN CITIZENS in Ferguson react to Barry's obsession with gifting ILLEGAL ALIEN Mexicans.
DO IT. PLEASE.
Shut Down - like anything will happen checks will go out and Obama will still play Golf and Obama will still blame the republicans. No different than any other day.
The lesson from the midterm election: Stop Obama! Bring it on Duffus!
He is not a teener . Obama is 3 year old preschooler who will have his tricycle tipped over with him on it and he will throw a temper tantrum
That's exactly why they won't shut it down for long. Neither R's or D's can afford for us to discover we can live without Big Brother. Hopefully, the GOP have the fortitude to make Obama blink. With more then 60% of the public opposed to his amnesty plan, this seems like the right hill to defend.
I don’t get it why today’s GOPe are so afraid of shutting down the government. They did it last year and won control of the Senate.
Not to worry Lord Foul will receive the support of every third world despot south of our border, there will be throngs of illegals in our streets waving their countries flags expostulating their right to be Americans when all they really want is to leach the wealth of Americans.
Give’m all a long holiday; probably exactly what Moochie wants though. Its probably the reason he’s saying he’ll shut down the government due to defunding his executive amnesty order. He gets to blame the GOP and an extended vacation.
Great news! I don’t need, nor want, anything from the current government. Reopen 21 JAN 2017
It’s the Lefty Media who scream it...no one else but EPA employees care.
> How will the MSM spin that one?
With sob sympathy stories about IIllegal children trying to come to the U.S. to see their fathers for Christmas. Cut scenes will show illegal immigranrt fathers being pulled away from their children and hauled off to jail for only coming to work to feed his starving family in Mexico. I could find thousands of similar stories here in the U.S. where fathers were hauled off to jail for breaking the law but they sure won’t air that or allude to how much of this is staged and fail to mention that maybe Mexico should fix its own nation and stop sending its citizens over here to use multiple / stolen IDs to game the welfare system and not pay taxes.
Regarding federal appropriations for the purpose of immigration, the Supreme Court has historically clarified in general that Congress is prohibited from laying taxes in the name of state power issues.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
So Congress and the Oval office shouldnt even be discussing federal funding for immigration purposes, imo, unless the feds first successfully petition the states for an amendment to the Constitution which grants the feds the power to regulate immigration.
Sounds like a win win to me! Let’s do it!
