Talk about a slow news day.
I would be. Rob Portman is very intelligent and quite devious, so it seems. If Jeb Bush and Rob Portman get it together, it could make it tough for a constitutional conservative to not be overwhelmed by the backstabber in-crowd.
I’ve been hoping that Huckabee would take himself out of contention.
I too, will not be on the ballot.
This has to be the most un-news item of the past month or 12.
I like that he’s out, but at the same time I wouldn’t have minded him running, if only to dilute/divide the “moderate”/homo-lovin’ segment of the party. Anyone taking votes away from the Jebs and Christies is doing us a favor.
Still have this sinking feeling that the party’s “leaders” are going to try to force Jeb upon us. Portman might know that the donors are going in that direction.
Not that anyone would like it, but Ohio will be crucial in 2016, and I’d bet he is going to be on any VP short list made.
That's unfortunate. On the issues, you're probably closer to the average Freeper than any well-known potential GOP candidate.
It’s a good decision. In Ohio, his reelection to the Senate is almost a sure thing. The presidency is out of his reach. He wouldn’t win for more reasons than his lack of conservative support. He can’t really count on support from anyplace....not financial, not endorsements, not support base, etc. He’s just not that exciting of a guy. Talked with a guy who’d had a personal encounter with Portman and it resulted in a bad review of the guy.
Noted.
I would rather have you run than the former CEO of HP, Carly Fiorina.
Good. He fails on social issues.
I know of nothing about Rob Portman that I would take seriously.....he was a serious candidate in his mind only!!!
While you're all here, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that WayneS will also not be running for president in 2016...
I appreciate these guys announcing they’re not running. The list is huge and it would be nice to narrow it down to under twenty.
WE don’t need more homo-enablers in government no matter the party label.
Who?......................
Sad...............and I’m sure you’d make a good one,too!..................
