And Iranian F-4’s are hardly capable of delivering ordnance as their avionics are shot, and the number of F-4s capable of flying are way down in the low single digits. This means the Iranians will not risk flying and losing one of their ‘premier” jets on a routine mission and in airspace where the US and coalition forces control the skies.
During WWII we were sending supplies to Russia and were fighting the same enemy, Nazi Germany.
By the way, there is more personal freedom today in Iran than there was in Russia then and Saudi, today.

Very possible. Iran bought @220 Phantoms and 79 F14s and assuming with parts cannibalising they can probably still operate maybe a fourth of them.
With Russian and Chinese help they could install more modern electronics and weapons systems.
We haven’t heard anything about ISIS operating over the Iranian border but if they are the Mullahs are not likely to be forgiving and understanding.
