Very true, but...maybe it was a resignation and maybe it wasn’t. If you look at the USA Today version of this same story, this excerpt jumps out: “The white police officer who resigned almost four months after fatally shooting a black teen, setting off months of sometimes violent protests in Ferguson, Mo., was not asked to leave — but “it’s best that we continue to move on as a community,” Mayor James Knowles said Sunday.” I don’t think we will ever know the full truth here, because we won’t know what discussions happened behind closed doors. It may have been a resignation, or it may have been an agreement for him to resign.

I don’t think we will ever know the full truth here, because we won’t know what discussions happened behind closed doors. It may have been a resignation, or it may have been an agreement for him to resign.

Whatever it was, I would hope that Wilson had a good lawyer sitting beside him all the way to offer good counsel.
