A few years ago in Baton Rouge LA, a citizen was passing by an officer that was being attacked by a very large man. The officer was on the ground getting his face beat in. The citizen shot the attacker 5 times in the body with a .45 and he did not quit with the beating until a 6th round was fired into his brain.

There’s a lot of blacks are on hard drugs too which plays into their violence I think. Another source of liquid courage so to speak.

Dang! That good Samaritan must have been very confident of his shooting abilities. Point taken though, “unarmed” hardly means harmless.

there is no handgun that is a guaranteed "one shot stop" not even a 44 magnum or a high velocity 10mm. with a pistol i understand you have to hit the upper central nervous system to get instant results (like your example)

the fbi is moving down caliber from 40 s&w to 9mm

the hunters on FR can chime in here but it seems to me with larger more ferocious game you need a larger bullet

the increased size, weight and aggressiveness of urban criminals suggests to me that a pistol caliber downsizing is the wrong way to go.
