Twice they searched my car.

In the 1960s and 1970s the cops in Venice and Culver City pulled over EVERYONE atone time or another. It was well known that such stops were revenue enhancers.

He was a young adult male in a car with an out-of-state license plate and a college decal, driving solo on a major drug trafficking route (an interstate highway) -- as if those factors proved anything.

I used to drive to work on a secondary road for a 3am start time in a really crappy car. I got to meet every state cop who patrolled the area. They pulled me over just to check what I was doing. they barely even pretended to have a reason. One copess actually said she had a hard time keeping up with me in her crown vic. I laughed and asked her how badly she thought my car would be destroyed if I actually exceeded 50 mph on the heavily frost heaved road. It's hard to see the difference between the cops today and highwaymen of an earlier time.
