As a meat, we do turkey year round. Maybe not the big bird with all the fixings, but turkey is a really low cost meat. And is great as a leftover.

I buy 2-3 turkeys every season when they go on sale. .54 cents a pound is cheap eating any time of the year.

Besides. My little Yorkie is on a low-fat diet, so I cook a turkey or a breast about once a month. Add a few taters and carrots from the garden, and I’m feeding him for about 6-7 bucks a month.

And he really really loves it!
