Retired military personnel are calling on the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines to change their lists of disqualifying conditions to allow transgender people to serve openly.
Though the Dont ask, dont tell policy was repealed, allowing openly gay people to serve in the military, there is still a ban on transgender service members.
In May, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said that the ban should be continually reviewed.
A report released by the Palm Center on Tuesday, however, said the Department of Defense deleted its list of medically disqualifying and administratively disqualifying conditions in August. Now only conditions that impair fitness for duty or deployment qualify.
In a joint statement issued Wednesday, retired Lt. Gen. Claudia Kennedy, Maj. Gen. Vance Coleman, Rear Adm. Jamie Barnett and seven LGBT leaders urged the military to update their noncompliant rules.
Ultimate authority for ordering the elimination of discriminatory military policy rests with the President of the United States, and if the Services decline to comply with DOD rules, or if DOD declines to eliminate discriminatory policy, the Commander-in-Chief should take executive action to effect the change, the statement read.
Harper Jean Tobin, director of policy at the National Center for Transgender Equality, said requiring troops to serve in silence is not sustainable or American.
Commanding officers are more and more aware that some of their troops are transgender, and they want to know how to keep them serving, she said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
They want some guidance from the top so they can do their jobs.
Nothing the military need more than a bunch of psychologically damaged basket cases with major health care needs for the rest of their lives.
Is the Corporal Klinger gag now a hate crime?
Transgendered people have higher incidents of mental instability. Depression, anxiety, and manic episodes are awful qualities to put into a high stress role.
A phalanx can’t work if you put a man too weak to hold a shield in it. Likewise a unit loses cohesion when you place someone too emotionally crippled to complement it.
Yep, but nothing is surprising with this administration.
And we’ll end up in Monte Python comedy.
Which is the whole point. He’s destroying the military.
C'mon folks .. let's think about this;
I don't think anyone gets to this decision to mutilate themselves easily .. nor readily.
I think it's a few years at least with a shrink and a ton of etcetera's.
Next is the recovery from whatever dasmage the freak did to itself ... which ... once complete ... I imagine goes out on a "Everybody look at MEEEE !" tour of a year or two.
We're up to around age 23 - 30 (depending on a bunch of factors)
So, at 25, some not-so-correct human being(?) walks in and says, "I wann'a serve"
Riiiiight
The outlets that publish this trash is not worth the price nor the time to read.
Simple question:
How does this help our military better fight our enemies?
Dopey. Just dopey.
Do commanders really want to know how to keep their transwhatever troops serving??? Really??? I find that very hard to believe.
They are aware they have trans whatever troops? How many are we talking about? Since trans are banned as of right now, if any are openly trans they are discharged, right? Hard to believe there are huge numbers of trans whatever troops serving.
YHGTBFKM!
I don’t see any problem with it. Nor do I see a problem with undocumented aliens, communists or Islamic fascists serving who hate America and bear no allegiance to God, Constitution or country and who are apt to “commit workplace violence.” This ain’t your daddy’s army. /s
So what uniform clothing standards will apply with that? Men’s, women’s, or mix and match?
The ultimate question that is conveniently ignored.
So what’s the purpose of today’s military? Is it to protect the nation, or promote feminism, homosexuality, transgenderism and diversity?
To ask the question is to answer it.
We need a pink brigade with targets on their backs to distract the enemy. They will draw fire and reveal their position. See gays can be of great benefit in military operations.
To liberals, they see the military as the largest government social program of all.
Are they saying “post op” transgenders should be able to serve in the open? If a man gets “it” cut off and wants to switch over to the Waves, then do it.
However, if this means men dressing like women serving in the Waves, there’s a problem. Most Waves wouldn’t want to shower with a man. And NO lesbian Waves would want to.
