...and time to start ignoring these types of polls and articles - know them for what they are - but too many on FR insist on being miserable and just wallowing in these pig pens.
It isn’t that I’m that picky. I just want a conservative to vote for. I’ve frequently voted third party. I don’t really want to do that again. Please, isn’t it the conservatives turn to have a nominee?
My top tier has been, and continues to be, (in no particular order) Cruz, Palin, Jindal, Santorum, and Pence. If you can’t give me one of those, give me someone comparable. I will not only vote for them, I’ll contribute to them, and campaign for them.
C’mon GOP-e, read my tagline!
Hope not. GOP can do better.
It isn’t meaningless. It gives us a glimpse of what their game plan is. These two RINO chumps standing on a stage full of lesser known candidates will dominate the primary election cycle, especially with the MSM backing them. Add in the kind of division we had back in 2011, and one of them is all but guaranteed. imo.
you’re too conspiratorial - Quinnipiac is a liberal jurassic outlet, but they are not part of the GOP e.
Sometimes things are just what they seem - a meaninglessly early survey that ONLY ONLY ONLY reflects name ID, period. All of Presidential polling history proves this. All of it.
Neither, thank you.
Neither, thank you.
Despair not!
At this stage of the game, this is almost entirely a matter of name recognition.
Have we all forgotten about Bob Dole? In two short years he will be a robust 93!
A bit unnerving that the Hildebeast’s approval/disapproval numbers are above water (especially after all the sh*t she’s been a part of), but we’re still a long ways off.
If we’re looking at polling this far out, I’d want to see some state by state polling. How solid is that alleged “Blue Wall?”
So hard to choose!
I would not vote for either of them even if you put a gun to my head and threatened to kill me if I did not.
Quinnipiac Is a joke. Always has been.
Well said.
We’re doomed.
CRUZ / ANYBODY (except Bush or Romney) 2016...
Relatively more relavent since it’s actually likely primary voters (nothing is really accurate this far out):
“Survey of likely Republican primary voters was conducted November 20-21, 2014. Results from the poll conducted November 7-8, 2013 are in square brackets. Results from the poll conducted August 1-2, 2013 are in parentheses.”
http://www.argojournal.com/2014/11/poll-watch-rasmussen-r-2016-gop.html?m=1
Paul Ryan 20% (13%)
Scott Walker 20% [5%] (6%)
Jeb Bush 18% [12%] (16%)
Chris Christie 15% [22%] (21%)
Rand Paul 13% [20%] (15%)
Name recognition...I agree. BUT, these are professional pollsters, and if we know that, they know that. It means, of course, that pollsters are in the tank....call Cpt Obvious.
However, I’m thinking an honest early poll would be phrased that way:
1. Which name do you most recognize in the following list? (There should be a ‘none of the above’ in all questions.)
2. Which of these people is most likely to run?
3. Which is your favorite?
4. Which would be the best president?
