This isnt news. On my son’s 2nd deployment to Iraq they were told by their 1st Sgt not to fire their weapons (even when being fired on) ever. Instead they were to beat feet back to the FOB and sit it out. Those disobeying the ‘no fire’ order had to complete separate paperwork for each rounds fired. I believe it was 10 or so pieces / round at that time.
