The federal government has restored Oklahomas flexibility to decide how to use $29 million in public school funding, state officials said Monday.
The U.S. Department of Education had withdrawn Oklahomas waiver from portions of the No Child Left Behind Act in August, after legislators dropped Common Core guidelines that would have been in place for the current school year. Replacement guidelinesthe ones in place before Common Corewerent certified until October as being capable of making high school graduates ready for college or the workplace.

Dept of Education influence over local schools must be reduced and eventually eliminated at once if not sooner.
The decline of American education commenced with the advent of the Dept of Education. Put it back in control of the State and locals.
I graduated from high school in a smaller sized town outside of Tulsa, I was prepared for both college and the work force. GTFO of state business, feds.
The feds are definitely not trustworthy, but how many state and local governments are either these days?
I trust State and local much more than the Feds. The record is clear, the Dept of Education has led the decline.
Seems to me that the smaller led to the larger. A smaller bureaucracy is still a bureaucracy.
Put it back in control of the State and locals.
