White is the absence of color.

Quite the opposite. White is the presence of all color. Black is the absence of all color!

White light = ROY G. BIV (Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet)

I am going back to 8 th grade art. Long time ago. :) I thought black absorbed all colors while white reflected colors

Depends on if you are talking about colored light or pigments.

If you mix all colors of paint together, you certainly will not end up with white.
