A Quiet Wedding for Police Officer in Shooting
New York Times ^ | November 24, 2014 | JULIE BOSMAN AND CAMPBELL ROBERTSON

Posted on 11/24/2014 8:28:01 AM PST by Second Amendment First

Darren Wilson, the officer who fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown in August, has been out of public sight ever since. Yet last month, he stepped into a St. Louis County office building, gave his name and applied for a marriage license.

Several days later, Officer Wilson married Barbara Spradling, a fellow officer in the Ferguson Police Department, public records show.

The couple obtained their marriage license in Clayton, Mo., outside St. Louis, in the recorder of deeds office on the fourth floor of the Lawrence K. Roos administrative building, steps away from the courthouse where the grand jury has been meeting.

While security guards question people going in and out of the building, the deeds office itself is a blandly bureaucratic place where clerks sit in open cubicles. A clerk at the marriage license desk said on Monday that she was surprised that Officer Wilson went there, as opposed to another county or state — possibly Las Vegas, she said — where he could have filled out paperwork with a greater guarantee of privacy.

Officer Wilson and Officer Spradling own a home together on Manda Lane in Crestwood, Mo., a St. Louis suburb about a half-hour drive from Ferguson.

Well if the mob didn't know where he lived before then they do now.

I think that folks around here should understand that the “confidential” information being talked about is out there in public records. If you have kids, ask them to find out what they can about an old high school friend. Give them twenty minutes.

You would be stunned to see what a fourteen year old could discover about that person.

Give them a credit card..and you would be shocked what you can find for under $100.

There is no such thing as confidential.

When thinking of the NYT, “Prostitutious” comes to mind.

I believe the entire purpose of this article is for the NYT to publish the name of Darrin Wilson’s wife, and where they live, making it easier to target them.

The article doesn’t list the exact house number, but it cleverly names the city and street.

I think her name was already easy to find on the internet. Darren had been married before but the first marriage ended in divorce. Apparently he and his new wife had been living together for some time—it made sense, if they wanted to make it legal, to do so before the verdict was announced.

The former home address of Wilson was published within a week of two of the shooting.

His wife was also outed at the same time (when she was living with him).

The cops watched the place for a while until it was obvious he was not returning.

Best wishes to them.

How did the Times get a copy of the Marriage License?

According to the Law of Missouri (Vital Records),

Note: In the State of Missouri, vital records are not open to the general public and can only be obtained by the individual, guardian or other legal party. https://health.mo.gov/data/vitalrecords/index.php
