St. Louis (CNN) -- A woman appears to have accidentally fatally shot herself in the head with a gun bought to prepare for possible Ferguson-related unrest, according to sources briefed on the police investigation.
The shooting occurred Friday night in downtown St. Louis, the city's Metropolitan Police Department said, in an area dominated by vacant lots beside a football stadium.
The female victim, identified in a police report as Becca Campbell, 26, was a passenger in a car involved in an auto accident. Her 33-year-old boyfriend was driving, the sources told CNN.

Running around town with a loaded gun, waving it in the air, and she had her finger on the trigger, and he ducked and hit a car. The gun somehow got aimed at her head and went off. If all true, it’s sad.
My favorite was the wife who wanted her cable TV installed by her husband who did not have a drill. She went outside and tapped on the wall where she wanted the coaxial cable to go thru the wall, while he used his 357 magnum to shoot a hole to run the cable. After going thru the drywall and sheathing, it put a perfect sized hole to run the cable. Unfortunately it also struck his wife right between the eyes and out the back of her head too.

If Gf was waving the gun around, and he ducked to avoid being hit, as he struck a vehicle ahead of them, how did the gun barrel end up facing her head when it went off?

That has the ring of an urban legend. But a good one.

My favorite safety rule...
“Always point the muzzle of the gun in a safe direction.”
You can screw up/neglect practically all other gun safety rules and still not kill someone as long as the gun is pointed in a safe direction.
