The Fox panel now is saying that the American people support the substance of what Obama is doing, just not the process. This is pure BS. They cite polls that use questions to show what they want as results. They rely on the ignorance and generosity of the American people. Usually, they offer the stark choice of mass deportation or a blanket amnesty. No discussion of attrition thru enforcement. No mention that the costs will be $6.3 trillion. No mention that we are flooding this country with more foreign workers who take American jobs and depress wages.

The corporate interests are pushing much of the agenda joined by the Dems who see the obvious political advantage of importing more minority voters.

A careful reading of Obama's address to the nation reveals one glaring commission. Obama failed to mention that he will be issuing work permits and SSN's to these lawbreakers. This was no accident. If the American people are made aware that these lawbreakers will now be able to compete with them legally for jobs, the opposition would be much greater.

Geraldo says they are out working in the fields and you won’t find Americans willing to do that job.

News for you Mr Geraldo, about 40% aren’t Mexican guest workers, but over-stayed their Visa’s. MSNBC may have a spot for you when FOXnews finally wakes up and smells the Cuervo...

When liberal Oregon votes no for issuing drivers licenses to illegal aliens, we can assume these polls are designed to influence, not report fairly. How the questions are worded and related questions makes a difference.

I agree with what you are saying, but I wonder about the near-sightedness of corporate/Chamber of Commerce (COC) America. I think they very well may suffer from some horrific unintended consequences in the near future.

For example, many of them support illegal immigrants because of the cheap labor pool, no doubt. But make them legal and IN THE SYSTEM OF USA WELFARE, and suddenly the motivation to work for much lower wages, and the fear factor of being turned into INS or just not having any legal recourse (such as lawsuits, strikes, etc.) is gone. Corporate America either pays them a wage better than welfare benefits or they WON’T FIND ENOUGH WORKERS!

In other words, the status quo was/is perfect for them. With amnesty, not so much.

And this will put a huge strain on our already upside down tax to payout economy, increasing the political pressure on just these same elitist COC knuckleheads to pay more taxes to support the newly invigorated immigrant welfare recipients. They’ll need to charge more for their products to keep up, and probably wind up costing even more than overseas labor, while driving down US consumer demand and sales.

Sure, the rest of us gets screwed in the meantime, having now to compete openly with all these fresh workers, but it might not go down like the COC folks think.

Pedro will now say, “Screw you Senor boss! You pay me $20 an hour or I no work. Welfare be bery, bery good to me! No more Immigracion bus, either, stupeed Gringoes!”
