That's the way Chinese used to speak in the Stratemeyer syndicate books (Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Dana Girls, etc.) until the 1950s.

Then they rewrote the books to remove the stereotypes, and dumbed them down as well, making them a lot less entertaining.

First, they are absolutely NOT dumb....but they do talk that way.
