I am in Calif. and I went to court in Santa Cruz for a ticket for a California Stop:

First guy up is for a guy with no license, Judge asks him if his ticket had anything to do with his immigration status, the guy says, “si”.

Judge turns to the packed courtroom, asks if for a show of hands of those here today for the same offense —a sea of hands goes up.

The Judge BULK EXCUSES **ALL THOSE CASES**...!

“This has purely to do with the way the law was written...”

Gavel goes down, and they all break into smiles, and form a line to get their paperwork square away.

Ya like that? About 14 months ago.

I was called to jury duty and told the judge I didn’t trust judges, that wasn’t enough. I saw the defendant listening to translations using headphones and then told the judge the guy was an illegal alien and therefore obviously guilty, she let me go.
