Well duh. If the erf hadn't been heated up so much during the summer from all those SUV's the lake water wouldn't have been this warm and wouldn't have been able to perfectly coincide with the arrival of the frigid air coming from Santa's house. Geez. How hard is that to figure out. It ain't rocket surgery. :>}

Wasn’t there a period when the area now known as Buffalo was under a GLACIER?
To: rktman
--don't know why it posted the way it did but here is the first paragraph of the article which debunks the global warming statement-
- Once the snow started falling in Buffalo this past week, the sound of climate alarmists running to their keyboards in order to blame climate change became deafening. And, as always, problems abound in their analyses.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was a victim of Global Warming too.

Not to mention the 1,000 feet of ice over lower manhattan. Still waiting for them to ‘splain all that and how it melted without the aid of humans and SUV’s.........crickets. To paraphrase a former stenographer of state, “That was a long time ago so what difference does it make?”.

Ding ding ding ding! You stumbled on the answer that was right before our eyes. The warmunists hands were scampering over the keyboards so fast that they generated huge amounts of heat causing the lake to warm up. How did I miss that? :>}

“Global warming is probably juicing lake-effect snows, and we’ve had the data to prove it for quite some time.”
Author is a complete MORON...
The Great Lakes are COLDER this year, than they have been in DECADES. 6 Degrees colder.
(Wiki) Lake-effect snow is produced during cooler atmospheric conditions when cold winds move across long expanses of warmer lake water, providing energy and picking up water vapor, which freezes and is deposited on the downwind shores.
Cold lake, cold water, meets temp differential over land.
The result IS SNOW...
What a biased, complete idiot.

Global warming is what is taking place in the left’s brains. They are getting dangerously close to combustion! If only....

All weather events are the result of Gore-Bull Warming, aren’t they?

Hmmm. Seems like lately it’s ALL events are tied to glow-bull discombobulation. Erf quakes? “GBD”

Every fall the leaves on trees turn colors and fall off... Global warming!... I mean Global climate change!

Whatever is causing it, it sure would be awful to be in the impacted area. This situation was that the strong wind with frigid temperatures whipped due east over the full length of unfrozen Lake Erie for a sustained period of time.
If I remember correctly, didn't the Syracuse area get 6 feet or so of snow a few years back?

But the Fitz sank in 1975; at that time we were concerned about global cooling. Nasty storms on Lake Superior were
occurring long before the globull warming hysteria.

No, you are wrong. /s
I have Gruberstistics to prove it too.

It's still cooling down quite nicely.
Once Lake Erie freezes over the dumping will largely stop.

It pays to read an article before arriving at conclusions.
