A two-year investigation by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee has found that the CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, and asserted no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees. […]
In the aftermath of the attacks, Republicans criticized the Obama administration and its then-secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is expected to run for president in 2016. People in and out of government have alleged that a CIA response team was ordered to “stand down” after the State Department compound came under attack, that a military rescue was nixed, that officials intentionally downplayed the role of al-Qaida figures in the attack, and that Stevens and the CIA were involved in a secret operation to spirit weapons out of Libya and into the hands of Syrian rebels. None of that is true, according to the House Intelligence Committee report.
The report did find, however, that the State Department facility where Stevens and Smith were killed was not well-protected, and that State Department security agents knew they could not defend it from a well-armed attack. Previous reports have found that requests for security improvements were not acted upon in Washington. …

What were expected by many to be blockbuster hearings sure passed with barely a whimper.
The video lie could NOT have been more egregious, done SOLELY for the purpose of getting through the election by downplaying a terrorist attack in Benghazi.. Nothing to see here folks, move along.
This is not Gowdy’s panel, he is just getting going. This is old news.
Certainly is, but AP playing gotcha and set-up-the-strawman games won’t stop.
Gowdy was on Fox a week or so ago and indicated they were uncovering some new evidence, but no specifics. Are these close door hearings so far?
The AP story sidesteps the fact that much of the criticism was focused on the fact that the administration lied about the causes of the attack.
Looks like criminal negligence to me. Business as usual.

Here is a third way a "stand down" policy was implemented IMO.

Hillary might have committed her own treason during the attack.

I read Kenneth Timmerman’s book, “Dark Forces - The Truth About What Happened In Benghazi”, and I’m still fuming. He spoke to a lot of the people whose names we’re familiar with and to several people he wouldn’t name in the book. BUT, he said he was going to give the names of those people to the FBI so they could interview them. Also, he gave a copy of the book, and I believe the same list of names, to Trey Gowdy in hopes it’ll help with the Select Committee’s investigation.
We won’t get to hear the best testimonies because they’ll be closed hearings. I just hope they’re able to tell us enough info they learn that the lies and cover-up will be clear to EVERYone. And that what they learn will finally send a bunch o’ folks to the hoosegow. Hitlery is the first one I want to see in an orange jumpsuit.
