The race for House District 59 is at last at a definitive close. After almost two weeks of praying, hoping and searching for more ballots, on Thursday, Democrat Mike McLachlan conceded to Republican challenger J. Paul Brown.

In a brief interview, McLachlan said he would not seek a recount.

“I’m done,” he said.

In a telephone interview Thursday afternoon, Brown, who was in Denver for new legislator orientation, said he didn’t begrudge McLachlan for taking his time to concede.

A Republican won? I am not sure why after last night Obama just didn’t decree the winner to be the Democrat.

Because ultimately it is the House of Representatives that has the power to decide who won.

The House of Representatives have a lot of powers. Doesn’t stop the POSPOTUS from giving them the middle finger and ruling from the Oval Office.

Republicans unseated three House Democrats. .. Republican JoAnn Windholz won in House District 30 by 106 votes ... And Rep. Tony Exum of Colorado Springs was defeated by Republican Kit Roupe by a 289-vote margin.

Democrats will have a 34-31 edge the next two years. They currently have a 37-28 majority.

Republicans win ballot counts when their actual vote totals large enough to overcome however many fraudulent votes the rat can manufacture once the count starts.

He must have been up by a lot, and there must have been Republicans in charge of counting.

Republicans won the popular vote for the House but because of the 2010 Democrat gerrymander, the Dems still control the House.

The same story here in Maine.

A democrat won a state senate race here by 24 votes.

After a recount, it was determined a few days ago that the Republican had won, by 11 votes.

The GOP won control of Maine’s state senate by winning about seven seats that were previously in the hands of the dems. The best showing by the GOP in the Maine Senate in 40 years.
