I think between now and January 5, there isn’t a thing either can do, with the exception of the continuing resolution. At this time, the only thing ether can do is extend the CR by one month so that the new congress can take it up.

In that sense they take “daddy cannot buy my holiday presents because of the republican government shutdown” off the table. And with that, also remove funding for (insert agency here).

Good luck hoping on that when all the evidence is in that we have become a Fascist oligarchy and the Ruling Class will NEVER allow something like that to happen again.

They've been ignoring their base for years...they still get elected. IMHO, Cantor was a fluke. Either that, or there are some super smart folks over in Virginia.
