Dana Perino, the Fox News co-cost and former spokeswoman for George W. Bush's White House, said that President Barack Obama's executive amnesty is well within the law.
She admitted on Thursday's The Five that though she "might be an outlier on this," she believed "Republicans are really boxed in" on Obama's amnesty.
"I don’t think that we’ll have the answer to the constitutional question for years," she said. "And at this point, I think the President has the prosecutorial discretion to do what he’s doing.”
Hours before Obama formally announced his executive amnesty, Perino said Republicans "cannot stop the President from doing this."

As I understand it, evaluating Obama’s proposal requires an understanding of various technical legal issues. I do not think Perino has that background, nor do I, so I listen to those who do. Perino is probably speaking with a layperson’s limited knowledge of the legal background, which fails to grasp crucial distinctions and subtleties of various proposals, and not necessarily as a “Bush sycophant.”
What is not being stated is the need for an Ellis Island type control over the immigrant process.
Yes the illegals here were slyly invited by both Republicans and Democrats, for different reasons; and that was wrong.
Going forward is the issue. More of the same wading across the Rio Grande seems to be acceptable. This was no way to run a country in 1910 and no way to run it today.
